Alex Eala voted WTA grass-court 'Star of the Swing'
Alexandra "Alex" Eala has been voted the grass-court "Star of the Swing" in an online poll conducted on the WTA website.
The Filipino ace won in a landslide, garnering 89% of the votes to beat Wimbledon and Berlin Open champion Linda Noskova, who received 7%, and Bad Homburg champion and Wimbledon runner-up Karolina Muchova, who earned 3%.
Other nominees included Queen's Club champion Donna Vekic, Wimbledon doubles champions Kristina Mladenovic and Guo Hanyu, three-time Eastbourne champion Madison Keys, Bad Homburg finalist and Wimbledon quarterfinalist Naomi Osaka, and Berlin finalist and Wimbledon quarterfinalist Jessica Pegula.
Eala enjoyed an impressive grass-court campaign this year, capturing her second WTA 125 title in Birmingham, reaching the semifinals of the Berlin Open, and making a historic run to the fourth round of Wimbledon.

She will now turn her attention to the North American hard-court swing, beginning with the DC Open later this month.
