Alex Eala Instagram Story: That's a wrap on Manila

Alex Eala expressed a heartfelt message to the Filipino community as she leaves Manila to return to action ahead of her North American hard-court swing campaign.

Eala shared her gratitude for the fans for welcoming her back last week following her historic run at the Wimbledon, where she became the first-ever Filipino to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam event.

"Maraming salamat sa pagtanggap sa akin mga kababayan! Each and every one of your stories has touched me on a profound level," Eala said in an Instagram story.

"I leave with a refreshed memory of what I carry when I'm out there playing tennis. And wow is it a privilege to be part of something bigger than myself."

Eala left for the US to continue her campaign in the WTA Tour. The 21-year-old ace will first compete at the WTA500 Mubadala DC Open from July 25 to August 2 before she sees action at the WTA1000 Canadian Open.

She is also expected to make the Main Draw of the US Open, the final Grand Slam tournament of the year.

Eala has also expressed her intentions to banner the flag in the 2026 Asian Games in China.
