MLBB: Yangon Galacticos end PH's MSC finals streak by clipping Team Falcons

There will be no Philippine team in an MSC finals for the first time since 2019 after Myanmar's Yangon Galacticos upset Team Falcons PH, 3-2, in the MSC 2026 semifinals on Friday in Paris.

Yangon Galacticos will become the first Burmese club to make the grand finals of an MLBB grand finals since the M2 World Championship, where the Burmese Ghouls reached the finals before bowing to Bren Esports.

Yangon Galacticos, who has yet to drop a game in the ongoing MSC, will face either Team Spirit or Onic Indonesia in the grand finals.

The loss also marked the first time in seven years that the Philippines will not have a representative in the MSC Grand Finals.

The last MSC final without a Philippine team came in 2019, when Indonesia's ONIC Esports defeated Louvre Esports in an all-Indonesian championship series.

Since then, the Philippines had been represented in every grand final. Execration and Blacklist International figured in an all-Filipino title showdown in 2021 before RSG Philippines captured the crown in 2022. Blacklist returned to the finals in 2023 but fell to ONIC Esports Indonesia in six games, while Team Falcons PH settled for runner-up honors against Malaysia's Selangor Red Giants in 2024.

Team Liquid PH then restored the country's supremacy by defeating SRG in last year's championship series.

All is not lost for Team Falcons PH, however, as it will still compete in the battle for third place in bid to salvage a podium finish.
