MLBB: Team Spirit outlasts Yangon Galacticos to capture historic MSC title

The Southeast Asian dynasty has been broken as Team Spirit became the first team from outside the region to win an international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament.

Team Spirit, which banners the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region, made history after surviving Myanmar's Yangon Galacticos, 4-3, in the MSC 2026 Grand Finals on Saturday in Paris.

With the thrilling victory, Team Spirit ended Southeast Asia's long-standing dominance in the international ML:BB scene. Since the inaugural MSC in 2017, teams from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia had captured every title.

The region has been just as dominant in the more prestigious M-Series World Championship, where only the Philippines and Indonesia have produced champions so far. The Philippines, in particular, had won the last six editions.

However, Team Spirit proved it was finally their time.

Team Spirit, the same team that sent powerhouse and star-studded Onic Indonesia home during their semifinals bout, raced to an early 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven when gold laner Anton "Hiko" Pak (Granger) unleashed timely Rhapsodies and Death Sonatas to take down Yangon Galacticos' exp laner and roamer at the 15th minute.

Hiko then picked off the opposing jungler as Team Spirit completed the siege to clinch the match point.

The Burmese club refused to go quietly with a pair of dominant wins in the next two games to drag Team Spirit into a winner-take-all Game 7.

The two teams engaged in a tense Lord contest before the 16-minute mark, with Yangon Galacticos nearly picking off Hiko's Melissa after Kaize landed a crucial Abyssal Arrow. But Zaur "zaur egoist" Magomadov's Hylos turned the fight around by securing the Lord, paving the way for Team Spirit's championship-clinching push.

Meanwhile, Onic Indonesia swept Team Falcons PH, 3-0, in the battle for third earlier in the day, avenging its loss to almost the same core during the M5 World Championship finals in Manila in 2023, where AP. Bren emerged victorious after a grueling seven-game series.
