UAAP: UP continues to roll, La Salle exacts revenge   


After shocking defending champions Ateneo, the UP Lady Maroons continued to roll, this time dominating the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-23 25-22 25-22, to claim solo third place in the UAAP women's volleyball competition on Saturday at the Filoil Arena in San Juan City.

The Diliman-based squad relied on their balanced scoring, with Diana Carlos leading the way with 13 points off 12 attacks. Team captain Kath Bersola added 12 off eight kills, two aces, and a block, while Isa Molde and Marian Buitre chipped in nine and eight points, respectively.

Adamson also spread the scoring, with May Roque pacing her squad with 11 points, Mylene Paat and Jessica Galanza had 10 each, while Mary Joy Dacoron added nine.

With the loss, Adamson dropped to seventh place at 3-6, just above winless UE.

In the other match, La Salle exacted revenge against the UST Growling Tigresses, earning a 25-11 25-13 25-17 victory after bowing to the España-based squad in the first round.

Kim Dy continued to be solid for La Salle, scoring 12 points, while veterans Ara Galang and Mika Reyes scored 11 each. Cyd Demecillo and Majoy Baron added nine and eight points, respectively.
