UAAP: Morente takes charge as Ateneo down DLSU for top spot

Michelle Morente had 25 points to lead the Ateneo Lady Eagles to a 26-24 26-24 21-25 25-17 victory over the DLSU Lady Spikers on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles found themselves behind in the first two sets, before igniting late rallies to go up 2-0.

La Salle then battled back to take the third, but Tai Bundit's squad did enough in the fourth set to put the game away.

Katrina Tolentino added 18 markers for Ateneo, while Bea De Leon chipped in nine.

It was a more balanced attack for DLSU, with Kim Dy hitting 15 points to pace her squad. Majoy Baron talied 14, while Aduke Ogunsanya scored 12. Kim Fajardo, meanwhile, scored 10.

With the win, Ateneo claimed solo first with a 6-1 win-loss card, while La Salle dropped to second at 5-2. — BM, GMA News
