The Lady Tams eked out the wins in tightly contested sets 2 and 3, after being stormed by Ateneo early in the game to end set 1 at 10-25.
"Hindi pa tapos. Hindi pa time to celebrate. Marami pa kaming bagay na ifi-fix for Game 2 kasi for sure, ibang team ang makikita namin. Both teams, ibang intensity," FEU head coach George Pascua said about their win.

FEU played the most number of five setters this season -- eight games, including this match. Did their frequent exposure to five-set games help them in their win today?
"During training, pina-practice namin 'yan, just in case dumating ang ganitong scenario. Kaya hindi ako nagwo-worry kung matalo man kami ng [ilang sets], importante, paano mo tatapusin sa dulo," Pascua said.
Heather Guino-o led the Lady Tams in scoring with 17 points, while Libero Buding Duremdes made 44 excellent digs.
Kat Tolentino topped the Lady Eagles with 21 points.
Stats: FEU wins over Ateneo in their Final Four series, 10-25, 25-23, 25-22, 12-25, 15-8.
