Adamson came to within one in the third canto, 15-16, before Audrey Paran and Margot Mutshima widened the cap, propelling NU on the high side.

"Sobra kaming na-inspire kasi unlike last season diba nakuha namin 'yong first win matagal pa so malaking factor 'to sa players namin," NU head coach Normal Miguel said.

"Malaking morale boost para sa kanila to work harder towards the succeeding games namin," he added.

Paran had a game-high 15 points, while Mutshima added 13 markers.

Ivy Lacsina and Risa Sato had nine and eight markers, respectively.

Trisha Genesis led Adamson with 12 points, while Lorene Toring added 11 markers.
