Team Dasma defeats Global Remit in five-setter to cap opening day of PNVF Champions League men's tourney

All games in the opening day of the PNVF Champions League men's division reached the fifth set as Team Dasma Monarchs dispatched Global Remit, 23-25, 25-18, 27-29, 25-18, 15-12, on Monday in Lipa City, Batangas.

Mark Frederick Calado led Team Dasma with 24 points on 20 attacks and four blocks, while Madzian Gampong added 20 attacks in their first win.

Joeven dela Vega, meanwhile, had 24 points for Global Remit.

Earlier, the Go For Gold Air Force Aguilas handed a five-set defeat to VNS Manileño Spikers, while MRT-Negros won in another five-setter against Sabong International Spikers.

Team Dasma will play MRT-Negros on Tuesday, while Global Remit will face Sabong International at 4 p.m. to cap the second day of the tournament.
