Team Dasma completes sweep of Pool B, books Champions League semis ticket

The Team Dasma Monarchs blanked the Sabong International Spikers, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23, to clinch a semifinal berth in the 2021 PNVF Champions League on Wednesday in Lipa City, Batangas.

Madzlan Gampong led the charge for the Monarchs, pouring in 12 points anchored on eight attacks, three blocks, and a service ace as his team wrapped up the preliminary round unscathed with a 3-0 slate.

Mark Frederick Calado was also pivotal as he finished with 11 markers while team captain Jayvee Sumagaysay chipped in nine.

Team Dasma now awaits the winner between the clash of Pool A members VNS Manileño Spikers and the Basilan Steel Spikers to determine its semis opponent.

In the other bracket, Go for Gold had already formalized its semifinals ticket on Tuesday after also sweeping Pool A and will face the second seed team from Pool B. — LA, GMA News
