Manileño Spikers sweep Basilan, clinch semis berth in PNVF Champions League

The VNS Manileño Spikers breezed past the Basilan Steel Spikers in straight sets, 25-17, 25-22, 25-23, to seal their semifinal slot in the 2021 PNVF Champions League on Wednesday in Lipa City, Batangas.

John Benedict San Andres led his squad after finishing with 13 points off 10 attacks and three service aces while Rwenzmel Taguibolos chipped in 10 markers.

On Basilan's side, Razzel Plisoc's 12 points went for naught as the Steel Spikers wrapped up its campaign without a win at 0-2.

Manileño Spikers will next face the Team Dasma Monarchs who earlier punched their semis ticket after outlasting Sabong International Spikers to complete a sweep of Pool B.

The semifinal round is slated for Friday, December 3.
