NU remains perfect, UST exacts revenge against UP for fourth straight win


National University maintained its spotless record in the UAAP Season 84 volleyball matches on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

NU defeated Ateneo de Manila University in a four-setter, 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-18, inching them closer to a Final Four spot.

Mhicaela Belen tallied 19 points, 21 excellent receptions and 10 excellent digs, while Princess Robles 16 points for their ninth straight win.

Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas exacted revenge against their first-round tormentor University of the Philippines, 25-20, 18-25, 26-24, 25-23, for its fourth straight win.

In the other games, De La Salle University dealt Far Eastern University its sixth straight loss, 25-23, 25-13, 25-14, while University of the East remained winless as they lost to Adamson University, 25-16, 25-14, 25-9.

NU remains at the top spot with nine wins in as many games, while UST is at second with a 7-2 card. La Salle (6-3) and Adamson (5-4) complete the upper half of the standings. Ateneo and UP are tied with four wins and five losses, while Adamson (1-8) and UE (0-9) round up the last two spots.

UAAP action will return on Tuesday.
