Tina Salak named new FEU Lady Tamaraws head coach
Tina Salak has come home.
The legendary volleyball player was tapped to lead her alma mater, Far Eastern University, in the upcoming UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball tournament.
She will come in as a replacement for George Pascua, who called the shots for the Lady Tamaraws from 2017 until the recently-concluded Season 84.
"FEU is pleased to announce the appointment of UAAP champion coach Cristina Salak as head coach of the Women’s Volleyball Team," the team said in a Facebook post.
"After a long and illustrious playing career, Coach Tina got her first head coaching job in the UAAP with the De La Salle Zobel girls volleyball team and led them to the Season 81 title."
Salak is an iconic product of FEU, having been part of the school's back-to-back titles in 1994 and 1995. She was also named MVP in 1995 while also steering the national team in various international tournaments.
