Petro Gazz survives Chery Tiggo in five-setter; Creamline downs UAI-Army

The Petro Gazz Angels survived the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-14, 24-25, 25-13, 21-25, 15-9, on Saturday in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lindsey Vander Weide listed 29 points, anchored on 25 attacks, 2 blocks, and 2 aces, while MJ Phillips had 23 points in the win which bolstered their campaign to the semis after improving to 4-2 in the standings.

Mylene Paat, on the other hand, led the Crossovers with 21 points in their second straight loss after sweeping their first five games.

Earlier, the Creamline Cool Smashers took down UAI-Army, 25-12, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, to retain their hold of the top spot with a 6-1 card.

Yeliz Basa made 18 points, while Ced Domingo and Jema Galanza added 16 and 14 points, respectively in the victory.

PVL action will return on Tuesday with PLDT going against Cignal and F2 playing Akari at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
