Domingo, Gumabao show might as Creamline sweeps Choco Mucho for 3-0 start

Ced Domingo powered through in the middle while Michele Gumabao worked her magic in the opposite as Creamline pulled off a dominant 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 sweep win over Choco Mucho in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday.

Domingo found her groove in the third set to finish with 15 points while Gumabao listed the same number of points as the defending champions improved to 3-0 while dealing the Flying Titans their second straight loss for a 1-2 card.

Jema Galanza and Tots Carlos continued to fill in the shoes left by the recovering Alyssa Valdez with the former dropping 15 markers while the latter chipped in six markers.

After racing to a quick 2-0 set advantage, the Cool Smashers leaned on Domingo in the final frame after the former FEU standout drilled five points to fuel a 6-0 rampage that saw them go up by eight, 11-3.

But Choco Mucho, which was fresh off a loss to Petro Gazz last Thursday, instigated a run of its own with Des Cheng  pulling them to within two, 11-9. A one-two play from setter Jia Morado, though, sent Creamline to the second technical timeout enjoying a 16-10 cushion.

Aside from Domingo, another Creamline middle blocker showed her might as Jeannette Panaga helped the squad reach a 22-13 spread before Domingo's quick attack gave them the match point, 24-14.

Domingo then denied Kat Tolentino for the sweep-clinching point.
