PLDT gets first win at Army's expense

The PLDT High Speed Hitters got its first win in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference after a straight sets win against the Black Mamba Army, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21, on Thursday at the Philsports Arena.

Mary Anne Mendrez scored 11 points anchored on nine attacks and two blocks to lead PLDT to a bounce back victory after their loss against F2 Logistics Cargo Movers. Jovi Prado listed nine points, while Michelle Morente had eight points.

Royse Tubino listed eight points, while Nene Bautista had seven points.

PLDT improved to 1-1 while Army remained winless at the end of the match.

The High Speed Hitters will face Chery Tiggo on Tuesday, while Army hopes to end their 15th straight loss since last year when they play Akari on the same day.
