NU sweeps FEU, gets twice-to-beat bonus

National University secured a twice-to-beat advantage heading into the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball Final Four after defeating Far Eastern University, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22, on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs also completed a sweep of the second round and finished the eliminations at 12-2. 

If University of Santo Tomas wins against De La Salle University on Saturday, then the Lady Bulldogs will get the no. 2 spot. Otherwise, a DLSU win will put NU at the top spot. 

Alyssa Solomon had 13 points, while Bella Belen added 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Faida Bakanke, meanwhile, led the Lady Tamaraws with 14 points.

With the loss, the Morayta-based squad saw its five-game winning streak snapped as it heads to the semis with a 9-5 card.
