Former NCAA beach volleyball MVP Cha Cuñada joins Cignal
The Cignal HD Spikers on Monday announced the arrival of former NCAA star Cha Cuñada as the club look to make up for the departures of several stars in the past months.
The 5-foot-5 outside spiker is a product of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, where she suited up in both indoor and beach volleyball programs.
Teaming up with Lara Mae Silva, Cuñada led the Lady Knights to the Season 98 beach volleyball crown in 2023 against powerhouse University of Perpetual Help System DALTA while also capturing the MVP plum in the process.
She will now bring her act to Cignal, which has recently lost veteran outside spiker Ces Molina and middle blocker Riri Meneses. Aside from the two, Rachel Anne Daquis, Jovelyn Gonzaga, and libero Jheck Dionela have also parted ways with the HD Spikers.
Cuñada will supply support to holdovers Vanie Gandler, Gel Cayuna, Buding Duremdes, Judith Abil, and Jackie Acuña as they look to improve their current 4-1 record.
