Ishie Lalongisip shines as Cignal downs ZUS Coffee

Rookie Ishie Lalongisip continued her stellar performance in the PVL All-Filipino Conference as she scored 20 in Cignal's 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-11 victory against ZUS Coffee, Thursday at the Philsports Arena.

Lalongisip had 18 attacks and two aces as she led the HD Spikers to back-to-back wins. Jackie Acuña and Vanie Gandler added 17 and 14 points, respectively, as Cignal improved to 7-3.

“'Yung motivation ko naman po everyday, iniisip ko lang ‘yung ginagawa namin sa training kasi ayaw ko rin sayangin ‘yung pagod and sacrifice ng bawat isa, lalo na ‘yung mga teammates ko,” the former Adamson standout said.

“Kasi nakikita ko silang naghihirap and nagwo-work hard every day para lang makuha namin ‘yung panalo. Kumukuha lang din ako ng lakas sa teammates ko."

Cignal was leading 14-9 in the fourth set before unleashing an 11-2 run to secure the win.

Jov Gonzaga led the Thunderbelles with 14 points, while Kate Santiago and Chai Troncoso chipped in 11 points apiece as ZUS Coffee slipped to 4-6.
