Bryan Bagunas, Eya Laure named ambassadors for 2025 FIVB Men's World Championship

FIVB Men's World Championship: Bryan Bagunas and Eya Laure

Bryan Bagunas and Eya Laure — two of the country's brightest volleyball stars — have been named as ambassadors for when the country hosts the 2025 FIVB Men's World Championship in September.

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) announced the development on Tuesday with only a few months left before the prestigious global event sets foot in the Philippines for the first time ever.

Bagunas and Laure are both icons in the sport, having represented the country in the international stage for a while now.

Bagunas was part of the national team that captured a historic silver medal during the 2019 Southeast Asian Games at the PhilSports Arena and has been a regular member of the squad ever since then.

Laure, meanwhile, banners a youth-laden national women's team, joining the likes of Angel Canino, Faith Nisperos, Fifi Sharma, and team captain Jia De Guzman under head coach Jorge de Brito.

Alas Pilipinas Men, who rank 64th in the world, will take on some powerhouse clubs in the FIVB Worlds, facing world no. 15 Iran, no. 20 Egypt, and no. 24 Tunisia in the group stage action.
