Brooke Van Sickle’s parents take over as new Petro Gazz coaches

Gary and Lisa Van Sickle will join their daughter Brooke on the court after being named new coaches of Petro Gazz ahead of the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference next week. 

The Angels announced the development on Tuesday as Gary has been tapped as the head coach while Lisa will take on a deputy role as the squad parted ways with Japanese tactician Koji Tsuzurabara after almost two years. 

"They nurtured greatness at home, now they bring that same passion to the sidelines to guide our team to greater heights," Petro Gazz said in a post.

"The coaching tandem of the Van Sickles takes charge of the Angels."

Gary and Lisa will inherit a loaded Petro Gazz squad that recently ruled the All-Filipino Conference behind Brooke, MJ Phillips, and Jonah Sabete, denying powerhouse Creamline a five-peat bid. 

During that run, the 27-year-old Brooke was named MVP for helping the Angels capture their first All-Filipino crown and third overall title.
