PVL: Eli Rousseaux powers Farm Fresh past Choco Mucho

Import Eli Rousseaux powered the Farm Fresh Foxies anew, this time against Choco Mucho, 25-18, 25-13, 18-25, 26-24, on Friday in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Rousseaux delivered 27 points built on 25 attacks and two blocks, along with six digs, as the Foxies closed their first-round campaign with a 4-1 record, topping Pool A and securing an early berth in Pool D for the second round of preliminaries.

“I think it’s very important to have different abilities as a team to be able to win consistently,” said Farm Fresh head coach Alessandro Lodi. “And to try to be at the top of the league and the conference.”

“I’m sure you have to play with quality and at times be able to dominate games like we did in the first two sets, but that is not always normal. The opponents have the ability to play better, and you cannot play the perfect game all the time. So you have to add the second ability, which is to play gritty.”

Trisha Tubu, meanwhile, led the local scorers with 17 points, while Ces Molina added 11.

For Choco Mucho, Kat Tolentino, Honey Royse Tubino, and Maddie Madayag finished with 12, 11, and 10 points, respectively, as the Flying Titans slipped to 2-2.
