Tonyboy Liao elected new PNVF president, replaces Tats Suzara at the helm
New leadership will be in place for the Philippine National Volleyball Federation after longtime volleyball patron Anthony "Tonyboy" Liao was elected as its new president.
Liao, who also sits as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) chairman, was voted into the PNVF presidency on Friday, according to a source who disclosed the results to GMA News Online.
Liao is set to succeed longtime president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, who ended his two-year term after being reelected in January 2023. Suzara remains as the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) president.
Liao will have Arnel Hajan as the new PNVF chairman, replacing senator Allan Peter Cayetano, while Yul Benoza will serve as the new vice president, replacing Don Caringal.
Otie Camangian was elected secretary general while PVL president Ricky Palou and Roger Banzuela were voted as treasurer and auditor, respectively.
Charo Soriano, Fr. Vic Calvo, Sherwin Maganda, Danilo Cong-o, Michael Vargas, Edward Lee, and Ma. Socorro Calleja are the Board Members.
The PNVF leadership revamp came weeks after the country’s historic run at the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship and a few weeks before the Alas Pilipinas Men and Women see action in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand next month.
The men's side has already set up a training camp in Taiwan.
