UAAP: Adamson sweeps FEU, returns to women’s volleyball postseason after three years
Adamson University secured a return to the postseason after three years, sweeping Far Eastern University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23, in the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
The victory lifted the Lady Falcons to a 9-5 record, assuring them of a Final Four berth, while the Lady Tamaraws dropped to 7-6.
Adamson last entered the Final Four in Season 85.
Shaina Nitura led Adamson with 18 points built on 12 attacks, four aces, and two blocks, along with 10 receptions and six digs. Frances Mordi and Thirds Tuddao contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively, in a match that lasted less than an hour and a half.
“As they say, the Lord rose again after three days—after three years, we have risen again,” said Adamson head coach JP Yude.

Gerz Petallo paced FEU with 11 points and nine receptions.
In the men’s division earlier, Far Eastern University outlasted Adamson, 26-24, 22-25, 23-25, 25-9, 15-12, to secure the top spot in the standings.
Mikko Espartero led the Tamaraws with 22 points and 19 receptions, while Dryx Saavedra and Lirick Mendoza added 17 and 15 points, respectively. Amet Bituin chipped in 10 points and 12 receptions.
Richard Besorio tallied 17 points and 16 receptions for Adamson, while Zyro Ornos and Ahmed Tahiluddin added 12 points each.
FEU improved to 12-1, while Adamson concluded its campaign with a 3-11 record.
