UAAP: NU claims 6th straight men's volleyball title with sweep of FEU in finals
For the sixth straight season, the National University Bulldogs reign supreme in UAAP men’s volleyball.
NU completed a sweep of Far Eastern University in the Season 88 finals after scoring a straight-sets victory in Game 2, 26-24, 25-22, 25-22, on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Leo Ordiales, who was named Finals MVP, powered the Bulldogs with 24 points and two digs, while Jade Disquitado added 13 points, 15 receptions, and five digs. Buds Buddin also contributed eight points, 17 receptions, and two digs.
For FEU, Mikko Espartero tallied 17 points, seven receptions, and six digs, while Amet Bituin chipped in 10 points, nine receptions, and one dig. Dryx Saavedra, meanwhile, finished with eight points in the match.
In Game 1, NU won 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 15-8.
NU ended the elimination round with a 10-4 record to secure the No. 2 seed behind FEU, which posted a 13-1 slate.
The Bulldogs lost to the Tamaraws in the first round of the eliminations before avenging the defeat in the second round.
