Taka Minowa named Alas Pilipinas Women head coach as POC reveals Asian Games pool

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) has named the members of the Alas Pilipinas men's and women's pools for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, days after being tasked with overseeing the national teams following the suspension of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

POC has appointed Japanese tactician Takayuki "Taka" Minowa as the head coach of the Alas Women while Italian Angiolino Frigoni will still call the shots for the men’s team.

According to POC president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, POC secretary-general Atty. Wharton has already informed the two coaches of their assignment, which will run from July 1 to October 15.

POC has also revealed members of the men’s and women’s pools.

Leading the Alas women are team captain Jia De Guzman alongside Justine Jazareno, Jen Nierva, Dawn Catindig, Bella Belen, Eya Laure, Angel Canino, Thea Gagate, Fifi Sharma, Vanie Gandler, Alleiah Malaluan, Amie Provido, Nina Ytang, Janette Panaga, Erika Santos, Arah Panique, Mars Alba, Gel Cayuna, Shaira Jardio, Dell Palomata, Shaina Nitura, and Alyssa Solomon.

Bryan Bagunas and Marck Jesus Espejo join forces anew to lead the Alas Men together with Lloyd Josafat, Jude Garcia, Buds Buddin, Leo Ordiales, Al Bukharie Sali, Peng Taguibolos, Joshua Retamar, Josh Ybañez, Adrian Villados, Vince Lorenzo, Kristofer Rodge Alejos and Trevor Torio.
