UAAP: Norman Miguel back at the helm of NU Lady Bulldogs
The National University Lady Bulldogs have reunited with one of the architects of their success after tapping Norman Miguel as head coach anew in the upcoming UAAP Season 89.
Miguel will return to the same post he previously held in UAAP Seasons 81 and 82 before taking the reins again in Season 86, when he guided the Lady Bulldogs back to the championship after they fell short in their title defense the previous year.
Miguel will replace Regine Diego and is expected to bring back the same winning pedigree that once helped restore the Lady Bulldogs to the top of the UAAP.
Miguel's return is the latest move in NU's coaching carousel.
After Miguel concluded his two-year stint in Season 82, NU turned to Karl Dimaculangan in Seasons 84 and 85 before bringing back Miguel the next year. In Season 87, NU hired Sherwin Meneses to call the shots, but named Riego the new head coach in Season 88.
Miguel and Lady Bulldogs are now hoping to regain the title after losing to De La Salle University in the recent UAAP finals.
