PBA: With wife Bianca Gonzalez pregnant, JC Intal playing inspired basketball

Barako Bull forward JC Intal has been noticeably doing well in the PBA since getting married to television host Bianca Gonzalez last December.

With Intal leading the team, Barako Bull cruised to a hot 4-0 start and made it to the playoffs last conference.

And now that Intal is expecting his first child as the couple recently confirmed Gonzalez' pregnancy, The Rocket is once again in high spirits, which can only be good for Barako.

"Of course extra motivation. Ang tagal ko nang gustong maging daddy," he told GMA News Online after finishing with 24 points and 11 rebounds in their Governors' Cup opening game against NLEX.

That was Intal's first double-double performance of the season, and he continues to play inspired basketball for the Energy in their second straight victory over Blackwater.

He scored 17 points in 19 minutes, going 3-of-4 from the arc and 4-of-6 from the two-point area for a 70 percent shooting clip.

"Mas upbeat ako ngayon, mas positive, 'yung energy ko nakukuha ko day by day," he said. "Masaya, masayang maging dad-to-be."

Barako's Sunday afternoon victory is also a great mother's day gift for his wife, who is three months along and due to give birth in October. -- JST, GMA News
