The five victims of the June 27 massacre in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan will be laid to rest on Wednesday morning.

In his report on Unang Balita, Bam Alegre said the remains of the 5 Carlos family members will first be brought to San Jose Church beside the city hall for the requiem mass after which the mourners will walk toward the San Jose Public Cemetery in Barangay Citrus for the 10 a.m. funeral.

The five victims—Estrella Dizon, 28; her mother Auring Dizon, 58; and Estrella's children Donnie, 11, Ella, 7, and Dexter Junior, 1—were found by patriarch Dexter Carlos stabbed to death at their residence in Northridge Royal Subdivision on Tuesday morning. Auring and her daughter Estrella were also found naked and possibly raped.

Soon after, construction worker Carmelino Navarro Ibañes, 26, confessed to the crime. He also tagged two others, a certain Tony and a certain Inggo, as being involved in the crime.

Inggo or Ronaldo Pacinos was found dead on Tuesday with five stab wounds and with four of his fingers chopped off. There was also a cardboard sign on his body saying "Rapist/Adik wag tularan."

Alyas Tony or Tony Garcia, like Pacinos and another person of interest, Alvin Mabesa, have been questioned by police twice before but were released for lack of evidence.

Three other persons of interest, one of which was identified only as "Ponga," have already been cleared.

Carlos said he does not know where the investigation will lead now that one of two persons of interest named as accomplices by prime suspect Miling, has been killed.

President Rodrigo Duterte visited the wake of the massacre victims on Tuesday and promised to help the family bring the perpetrators to justice.

Carlos on Tuesday said he misses his family

“Hanggang ngayon nami-miss ko pa rin iyong ginagawa namin, iyong lambing ng mga anak ko, iyong lambing ng asawa ko,” he told reporters after Duterte left the subdivision.

The last night of the wake was peaceful, with only relatives staying overnight for a vigil. —KG/KVD, GMA News
