Shuvee Etrata saddened by her character Tonet's death in 'The Master Cutter'

Shuvee Etrata admitted she was saddened by the death of her character, Tonet Mendoza, in the Kapuso series "The Master Cutter.”

In Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras” on Friday, the Kapuso star said she hopes viewers saw how far her character was willing to go for the people she loved.

"It’s heartbreaking, but she fought for it. I hope what the fan or our viewers saw was how far she would go for love. She is truly capable of making sacrifices for the people she loves. That’s the kind of love she has, she’s willing to sacrifice herself," said Shuvee in Filipino.

Like Shuvee, many viewers and netizens also expressed sadness over her character's death and said they would miss her bubbly personality.

Addressing fans, Shuvee apologized for Tonet's departure from the show.

"I apologize that Tonet Mendoza's journey has to come to an end. She bid goodbye standing firm on her principles and the cause she was fighting for," she said.

Shuvee also shared that playing Tonet felt natural to her.

"Tonet made me feel so comfortable acting-wise. I knew I was acting, but it was still just me," she said.

The actress added that she misses working with the cast and crew of "The Master Cutter."

"I miss everyone who makes up 'The Master Cutter' every single day. It feels like I’m still in the group chat, 'aw, they’re all together right now.' So watch out, I’m going to come back and haunt you all," she said in jest.

Tonet met a tragic end after Martina (Max Eigenmann) killed her to keep a family secret from Atoy (Dingdong) and Audrey (Max Collins).

Following her character’s death, Shuvee shared an emotional farewell message after her character's journey came to an end.

"Thank you so much to everyone who followed and loved Tonet's journey. This project means so much to me. It was here that I learned, grew, and got to know myself better as an actress," she said.
