Zoren Legaspi opens up about family gathering with Dani Barretto
Zoren Legaspi has opened up about their recent family gathering at his niece Dani Barretto’s home.
In “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Zoren said Dani had been inviting their family to her home for quite some time now, but they kept putting off the invitation.
"Dani has been inviting us to her place for a long time. And for some reason, we kept neglecting that invitation. It's really my fault," Zoren said in Filipino.
He eventually decided to accept Dani’s invitation after realizing they were often in Alabang for gatherings with friends and that Dani’s home was nearby.
"And then, one day, I said to [Carmina], ‘Hon, let’s go.’ Because Mavy was being persistent, too," he said. "Then the twins were quick to act. ‘Alright, I’ll handle it. I’ll text Dani.’ And just like that, they messaged her."
Zoren also said he was surprised by Dani’s post on Instagram about their family gathering, as he did not realize that their visit held such a deep meaning for her.
"I was surprised by her post because I didn't know it would mean that much to her. It turns out our visit held such deep meaning. I didn't know," he said.
During their family gathering, the Legaspi family was accompanied by another Legaspi brother, Brando, and his family, as well as the Legaspi matriarch Hershey.
Dani's father, Kier, was noticeably absent.
In the same interview, Zoren addressed his brother Kier’s relationship with Dani.
When asked about the nature of their relationship, Zoren kept his answer simple, saying, "I’m not sure. As for us, we’re doing fine. All in all, we’re okay."
Dani is the daughter of Marjorie and Zoren's brother Kier Legaspi, who, in a 2023 “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast episode, admitted he's no longer in communication with his daughter.
In 2021, Dani told GMA News Online that Kier had her number and he could call her anytime.
