  • A congressman’s term is three years (maximum of three consecutive terms).
     
  • There are currently 238 members of the House of Representatives:
    • by district/sector: 216 are district representatives and 22 are party-list representatives
    • by term: 117 are first termers, 55 are second-termers, and 66 are last termers
    • by gender: 186 are male and 52 are female
       
  • Four congressmen have died since the start of the 14th Congress last year:

  • 77 percent -- or 8 in 10 -- of the Congressmen are members of political families.
