Pinay maid in Kuwait hospital rape referred to forensic expert

MANILA, Philippines - Kuwaiti prosecutors have referred the Filipino maid who was allegedly raped inside a hospital to forensic experts for medical examination after the suspect claimed that the victim willingly allowed herself to be molested. The suspect, a Bangladeshi national who pretended to be a radiologist working at the X-ray division of the Expatriate Medical Examination Center in the Al-Sabah Health Zone in Kuwait, also denied the Filipino maid's claim of rape. The suspect named Abdul Halim said that he only molested the maid “of her own free will," and that the Filipina was “satisfied" at what was done to her, the online news site Arab Times reported on Tuesday. Defense attorney Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan said he himself requested the Public Prosecution to refer the victim to a forensic expert to determine whether or not the maid was really raped. Previous reports said the Bangladeshi disguised himself as a radiologist and ordered the Filipina to remove her clothes and allow herself to be raped on an examination bed.   The suspect was arrested after the maid’s Kuwaiti sponsor complained to the center’s management that a “radiologist" had raped his maid. - Kimberly Jane T.
