Filipino accountants to hold seminar in Qatar
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Picpa) in Qatar will hold a seminar-workshop on March 6 at the Movenpick Tower and Suites in Doha from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. According to the Peninsula, the seminar will highlight âIAS 11" which will touch on the primary issue faced by the accountants and auditors of contractors. This issue, the report said, is the allocation of contract revenue and costs to the accounting periods in which construction work is performed. It will also tackle significant points to consider when applying the standards on Impairment of Assets (âIAS 36"). In addition, the seminar will feature key speaker Rober Lepon who has had more than two decades of external audit experience including audits of large multinationals, publicly listed domestic corporations, large family owned businesses, and cooperatives in various industries and non-stock, non-profit organizations. Lepon is the current director for Assurance & Business Advisory Services of Ernst & Young Qatar. Professionals in the field of finance, accounting, and audit are also invited to participate in this seminar. The seminar is free for Picpa members and associates.
