Cultural Artist Ronnie Alejandro feted in NY


MANILA, Philippines — Philippine officials in New York recently feted the achievements of cultural artist Reynaldo Alejandro for promoting Filipino arts and culture in over 40 years in the United States. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday the Philippine Consulate General in New York gave Alejandro the "Dakilang Pilipino" award last Feb. 10. Bestowing the award were Consul General Cecilia Rebong, community leaders and friends of Alejandro in paying tribute to his outstanding work as choreographer, author/writer, and chef. Also launched at the event were Alejandro’s three new coffee table books: Authentic Philippine Recipes, Fiesta! Fiesta!, and Manila Bay, The Crossroads of Asia. - GMANews.TV
