Pinay student to represent RP in US science fair

MANILA, Philippines - A third-year high school from Capiz will represent the Philippines in a science fair in the United States in May. Online news site The News Today reported that Angeli Joyce Yap Dy, a student from the Capiz National High School Special Science and Technology Class, will take part in the International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Reno, Nevada on May 10 to 16. Dy, daughter of Joseph Dy and Angela Joie Yap, is a consistent honor student whose dream is to become a doctor of medicine and a scientist in the field of medical research. In her first year, she won second place in the 2007 Regional Intel Philippines Science-Individual category and just recently, she ranked first in the 2009 National Intel Philippines Science Fair-Cluster 2 Life Science-Individual category. - GMANews.TV
