MANILA, Philippines – Featuring the Green Mobile Solar Charger. The Green Mobile Solar Charger, according to a report by John Consulta in GMA News’ “24 Oras," is the latest Filipino invention that allows one to recharge his/her cellular phone batteries through solar energy. The introduction of the solar charger in the market was in time for the celebration of the “Earth Month" in April, the report said. “[The gadget] gets light and converts it to electricity and then stores it in the batteries," said Tristan San Buenaventura while demonstrating the latest invention. The report said the charger is about the same size as an ordinary cellular phone and has a price range of between P1,800 to P2,500 per unit. Aside from cell phone batteries, the solar mobile charger can also be use to re-charge batteries of other tech-gadgets, the report added. “This gadget can charge mobile phones in different mobile brands, especially the major brands. It can also charge [batteries of] digital cameras, iPOD, game consoles like PSP or Gameboy," San Buenaventura said. - Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV
