GMA Pinoy TV stars join Kababayan Fest 2010 in California

GMA Pinoy TV's Kapuso stars are set to conquer California this summer as they take part in the annual Kababayan Fest, the biggest Filipino-American gathering in America's west coast. The big event, that will be staged during two Saturdays of July (10 and 17), is expected to draw an estimated crowd of about 200,000 Filipino-Americans. Kapuso stars Rhian Ramos and Kris Bernal, who both landed spots on FHM's Philippines 100 Sexiest Women List in 2010, will be gracing the stage on the festival's first day on July 10 at the "California's Great America" amusement park in San Francisco. Fellow Kapuso star and R&B prince Jay-R is also set to serenade the Filipino community during the San Francisco-leg of the celebration. On July 17, it's the turn of Kapuso love team Geoff Eigenman and Carla Abellana to delight audiences during Day Two of the festival this time at the Knott’s Berry Farm in Los Angeles. Joining in the fun will be Starstruck's Kris Bernal, Jackie Rice, and Steven Silva. “We’re so excited about GMA," said event producer Ryan Monsanto. “Kababayan Fest is like a bridge. Nowhere else will you find the best in Filipino entertainment mixed with the very best America has to offer. For sure, this year’s event will be unlike anything ever seen in the Filipino American community." The festival's host are Joey Guila, Giselle Tongi (Los Angeles), and Freska (San Francisco). Also participating alongside the Kapuso stars in the fun-filled, day-long celebration are "Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew" Season 4 Winners – We Are Heroes and Season 5 Winners-Poreotix. Exciting family activities and performances, as well as thrilling rides and water park fun also await Filipino-Americans who will join the event. Manny Pacquiao impersonator Minny Pacquiao, Eye Eighty, Mango Kingz, Parangal Dance Company, Kultura Philippine Folk Arts will also amp up the two-day celebration.
