Cebu Pacific cancels Manila-Bicol flights due to bad weather

Citing bad weather conditions, air carrier Cebu Pacific on Monday canceled at least two flights between Metro Manila and Bicol.   In a post on its Twitter account, Cebu Pacific said it canceled 5J-323 and 5J-324, or flights from Manila to Legazpi City (Albay) and back.   "Affected passengers will be accommodated on the next available flights. You may also rebook within 30 days of cancellation without penalties," Cebu Pacific said.   "We always place top priority in your safety; thank you for your understanding," it added.   Earlier, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of possible rain showers and thunderstorms in parts of the country including Bicol.   PAGASA also said the shallow low pressure area it had been tracking since last weekend had dissolved but a new low-pressure area has been spotted off Mindanao.   The new weather disturbance was estimated at 300 kilometers east of Surigao City as of 8:00 a.m. Monday. but PAGASA did not indicate whether the LPA could become a tropical cyclone. - VVP, GMA News
