Senatorial aspirants in the 2004 elections

82 senatorial aspirants filed their certificates of candidacy in the 2004 elections. 34 of them were declared as nuisance candidates. 12 withdrew their candidacy, although 6 of them fielded substitutes. 48 senator-wannabes were given due course and allowed to run. Mar Roxas topped the senatorial race with 19,372,888 votes.
