The Philippine government also deploys overseas contract workers through the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). Foreign governments such as Saudi Arabia hire medical personnel through POEA. South Korea also hires factory workers, professionals and other skilled workers through the overseas employment agency. Applicants have to register at the POEA Manpower Division to activate their files in the labor registry. Filipino job hunters can find job offerings in POEA announcements or press releases. After finding desired job offers, applicants should secure all requirements needed for possible interview with employers. An employer may reschedule an interview if the applicant has incomplete requirements. Other agencies might allow an interview to proceed even if requirements are incomplete. However, other qualified applicants having all requirements would gain better impression than those without. Requirements: Application form. Applicants usually fill out this bio-data form at the office of the recruitment agency. Pictures. Most recruitment agencies require 2x2 ID pictures attached to the job seekerâs application form. Applicants could put best foot forward by looking good in the picture. An employer looks at the picture as initial screening step. Applicants must have several copies ready, especially those applying with different agencies. Passport. Applicants must apply for passport at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Pasay City, or at Regional Consular Offices (RCOs) found in major cities in the country. Certificate of employment. Most employers prefer workers with at least two years experience especially for medical professionals, engineers, factory workers, and other skilled workers. Updated Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) Card. This is a requirement for professional and medical workers. A job seeker needs to get a copy of board rating and board certificate. Nurses applying for work in the USA must pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or Test of written English (TWE), Test of Spoken English (TSE), and Certificate of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS). School credentials. Applicants must secure diplomas from high school and college, and those who finished training from technical and/or vocational institutions must secure certificates. Clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation. Applicants must secure NBI clearance at the main office in Manila, or at the regional or satellite offices located in major cities in the Philippines. Office of Muslim Affairs (OMA) Certificate. Muslim applicants must secure this certificate. Seamanâs Registration Card. Seafarers applying for work in international shipping lines must get the SRC from the POEA Manpower Registry Division. Band members who want to go to South Korea must secure Artist Accreditation Certificate (AAC) from the POEA. Documents Authentication. Applicants must have their diploma, transcript of records, PRC and board rating and RTC (employment certificate) authenticated by the appropriate government units; then by the Authentication Unit, Legal Office in Malacañang; then by the Authentication Division of the DFA.
