CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — GMA News anchors Mike Enriquez and Jessica Soho, and Inquirer.net Editor-in-Chief John Nery on Saturday prepped for the first round of the PiliPinas Debate Series, which they will be moderating Sunday.
To ensure a smooth event, the three hosts took the stage during a dry run of the anticipated debate, where the five presidential candidates will face each other for the first time.

Enriquez explained that since the questions were screened by different media agencies and the Commission on Elections (Comelec), he's not certain what to expect.
"I, as one of the moderators, prefer it that way. I want the questions to be a surprise to everybody. We should not be spared from the element of surprise and spontaneity," Enriquez said.
"We owe that much to the viewers, the listeners, and the voters," he added.

Soho is hoping that that the candidates engage each other in substantial discussions that will educate voters on the issues that the country is facing.
"Para naman worth the time, worth all the effort to bring the debate here in Cagayan de Oro," Soho said. — APG, GMA News
