AWOL cop suspected of drug pushing killed in Quezon City

A policeman suspected of being involved in illegal drugs was killed by his fellow law enforcers during na operation in Barangay Baesa, Quezon City on Monday.

Superintendent Victor Pagulayan of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 3 identified the slain policeman as Police Officer 3 Arnel Arnaiz.

Pagulayan said Arnaiz was a member of the QCPD and went AWOL after being transferred to the Caloocan City Police Office.

He said he sent Station 3 personnel to Arnaiz's house in Virginia Street, Jordan Village, as part of the QCPD's Oplan Tokhang or Katok-Pakiusap, where suspected drug users and pushers are asked by the police to surrender.

Instead of surrendering, Arnaiz allegedly took his gun and fired at the policemen.
