4 OFWs hurt in UAE road accident - report
Four Filipinos were hurt in a vehicular accident in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, an online newspaper reported Wednesday. Three other workers were seriously injured in the accident that happened at 7 a.m. when the vehicle skidded off, rolling over several times after its Indian driver identified as 35-year-old Babu tried to overtake a heavy truck on flooded Sharjah-Dubai road near the RAK general police headquarters, according to Dubai-based Khaleej Times. The Filipinos and the other injured workers were on their way to work in Ras Al-Khaimah City when the accident took place. âTwo of the Filipino laborers, identified as P. M, 27, and R. R, 25, suffered major chest and back injuries. The other two Filipinos only sustained minor injuries," an unnamed officer at the traffic and licensing department said. The officer said the vehicle was badly damaged and the Indian driver sustained major head injuries and multiple fractures on the hands and legs. All the victims were admitted to the ICU at Saqr Government Hospital, Khaleej Times said. - GMANews.TV
