GMA News Online reporter among 2022 International Trade Fellows

GMA News Online reporter Jon Viktor Cabuenas was named among the 25 Asia-based journalists selected for National Press Foundation’s (NPF) International Trade Fellowship.

He is joined by media personnel from news organizations all over the continent including Financial Times, Nikkei Asia, The Financial Express, The Associated Press, and The New York Times.

Sponsored by Hinrich Foundation, the fellowship is “part of an ongoing program of trade training for journalists and awards for trade coverage.” It will be held in Singapore from July 24-28, 2022.

The program will “focus on global trade, including economic growth, digital trade, US-China trade friction and geopolitics, foreign direct investment, regulatory development, environmental impact, and more.”

Established in 1976, NPF aims to “make good journalists better” by educating them on the “complex issues of the day” and training them to use the latest reporting tools and techniques. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
