51 passenger buses passed roadworthiness inspections in Manila, Parañaque, Caloocan City — LTO

At least 51 passenger buses passed the roadworthiness inspected conducted at the terminals in Manila, Parañaque and Caloocan City as part of preparations for travelers expected to go to the provinces for the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day or Undas 2026, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) reported.

A total of 52 buses were inspected but one failed because of a broken reverse light and plate light, and an expired fire extinguisher. The driver was instructed to have the defects repaired and the expired fire extinguisher replaced before traveling again.

The LTO also noticed a low number of passengers waiting in designated passenger areas in some terminals and the cleanliness of the restrooms in the terminals.

In Manila, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the LTO Law Enforcement Service conducted roadworthiness inspection in nine terminals:

  • Santrans
  • Philippine Rabbit
  • Five Star
  • Sta. Lucia
  • Candon Bus Terminal
  • Bataan Transit
  • Genesis
  • Florida
  • Dalin

On Sunday, October 25, 2026 inspection was done in the following terminals:

  • Five Star
  • First North Luzon Transit
  • Cisco

Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX)

Caloocan City Terminals

The LTO, which was joined by three personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and two members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, set up an assistance desk for public inquiries, and conducted alcohol breath analyzer tests on two bus drivers. — BAP, GMA News
