No classes in Pasig on Thursday — DepEd
Classes up to the high school level will be suspended in Pasig City Thursday to mark the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Department of Education announced this on its Twitter account Wednesday night, adding this includes public and private schools. "There will be no classes in all public and private elementary and high schools in Pasig City (on) December 8, to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception," it said. Catholics will mark on Thursday the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, where the Blessed Virgin Mary was granged a "singular privilege in view of the merits of Jesus Christ." Such a privilege preserved her and exempted her from all stain of original sin, according to Pope Pius IX in 1854. In the Philippines, a predominantly Catholic nation, the faithful are expected to hear Mass at Church. — KBK, GMA News
