2 male vendors shot dead in Divisoria night market

Violence marred the busy Divisoria night market in Manila with the fatal shooting of two male vendors there Monday night.  Police are still looking for leads on the motive behind the shooting, radio dzBB's Paulo Santos reported early Tuesday.

 

The two vendors, who were not immediately identified, were declared dead on arrival at the Mary Johnston Hospital.

 

Both died of multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body, the dzBB report said.

 

Initial investigation showed an unidentified gunman shot the two at the corner of Juan Luna Street and C.M. Recto Avenue.

 

The incident prompted police to further tighten security and boost visibility in the busy Divisoria area as the Christmas shopping peaks this week.
