Predawn fire causes tension at Mandaluyong hospital

Tension gripped patients of a hospital in Mandaluyong City after a fire at a nearby laboratory clinic threatened to spread to the facility before dawn Wednesday.

 

Several patients were evacuated from the Mandaluyong City Medical Center as the fire razed the laboratory clinic along Boni Avenue in Plainview village, radio dzBB reported.

 

Mayor Ben-Hur Abalos rushed to the scene to make sure the patients at the hospital were not hurt, the report said.

 

No one was initially reported injured in the fire, which reached the third alarm and was placed under control an hour after it started.

 

The patients were eventually brought back to the hospital when the fire was placed under control.

 

Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the fire. –KG, GMA News
