Malate folk prefer watching 'Bourne Legacy' filming over impeachment trial
For several residents in Manila's Malate district, watching the filming of the upcoming spy thriller "The Bourne Legacy" is much more preferable to the ongoing impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Many residents went to the filming site to watch the shooting of scenes in the movie, according to a report Thursday by radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo.
The report quoted them as saying they would rather watch the filming than the live coverage of Corona's impeachment trial at the Senate which started Jan. 16.
As of Thursday, the report said several streets in Malate were still closed to traffic due to the filming.
Earlier reports said the schedule of filming in Manila included Jan. 18 to 19 at the corner of J. Bocobo St. and Remedios Circle.
Further filming will include Riverside Road, Real and Sta. Lucia streets in Intramuros on Jan. 25, Jones Bridge Feb. 17 to 18, and Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard in Sta. Mesa Feb. 8 to 15.
Shooting of the film began on Jan. 11 on Leveriza Street near Quirino Avenue in Manila.
“The Bourne Legacy” currently being filmed is the fourth installment of the spy action thriller franchise. It stars Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. –KG, GMA News
